I really love to see my daughter being well liked by her friends, by most people in fact, what father wouldn’t?! But it also worries me that this angel is really the next Al Capone or another notorious gangster with her minion in the making.
I needed to stretch my legs and brave the icy streets and pop into my local shop to top up my lecky card (electricity) and get some milk. So I donned my woolly hat, scarf, thermal gloves and mp3 player (well you gotta have music).
I slipped no less than three times just going from my front door to the street, and then looked around to see if anyone was watching, I find slipping over very undignified. I looked at my car then back to the ice on the street …. No competition, I managed the lock on the car but the door was still sealed from the ice, after some jiggling and cursing I opened the door and sat in the car for a full twenty mins whilst I revved the engine till the temperature gauge moved, then what seemed an age the heat cleared my window and I was in business.
I saw the funniest thing that I will share, there was this guy walking his dog, a tiny Jack Russell. The owner was sliding all over the place but the funny thing was that this little doggy was also sliding, it just amused me, his poor little legs trying to keep a grip.
I pulled up at the store in minutes as it really was just around the corner, in fact it took me nearly as long to get from the car to the shop where thankfully they had salted the area.
I picked up my milk and waited to be served, that’s when it dawned on me, my lecky card was still at home in my warm flat. I consoled myself with a giant bar of Cadburys chocolate … well they say that’s energy too.

I think that's an age thing again forgetting your card ; )
Yay chocolate yum!
thank goodness for chocolate xoxo
This made me smile :)
Stabb brought British weather to south Louisiana with him...cold, and rain that angles sideways into you as you walk :(
I am fed which makes me happy.
On my way down to open the door to the guy bringing my take-out I noticed a heap of mail waiting for me. Among other letters I received three Xmas card, one being from our very own imagesinwords. I want you to know your son is a very handsome young man and ‘oh my’ what a smile, thank you for your wishes.
One of the other cards came from a friend in Israel who I love dearly, his story is very sad but that can wait for another time.
I love receiving cards from friends around the world even if we don’t talk all year ‘round.
The religious ideal of Christmas is not one that I follow as I am Jewish but the season does make people’s outlook seem and feel so much warmer.
That said, my daughter is a catholic so what more an excuse do I need to join in the festivities.
Merry Christmas from me and mine to you and yours

Love to you both
Thank you sweetie, and much love to you and the boys ;-)
If you had moved to the right a little that fairy would of been on the top of your head!
I came home from work just a few hours ago, at best it was just starting to snow, I just looked out the widow and I can’t see my car. I was alerted to the snow by three phone calls from work friends asking if they should attempt to get to work tomorrow as the main road (which I also use) was closed due to several accidents with one car being on its side.
Work is work and I will certainly try to get in for the half day that’s expected of us. I think a phone call will be needed in the morning if it really is a ‘snow in’.
To top that our works do is planned for the evening in town, of all days to get this, but we were warned, even if they did say it would be just 7cm .... this is 7 inches!
My daughter texted me earlier as her school finished today and she has snowmen on her mind … oh to be young.
Have a safe weekend.
It snowed today, three days ahead of schedule.
With all the latest technological equipment they persist in getting our weather wrong. It costs this country millions of pounds each year and they keep on spending (or wasting) money to bring us the latest weather news, when are they going to learn they can't predict anything that mother nature has to give. She will give what she likes when she likes.
But it is bloody freezing out there!!

We had sunshine where I live...it was still freezing though..braaa!
Firstly I want to wish everyone a wonderful Chanukah.
I’m not religious but I do have a great sense of Jewish spirituality. This morning I went shopping and passed a few young Jewish men who were heading to the synagogue. I wished them all a good Shabbat and they nodded and smiled. I never gave it a thought that I should also be heading there too, until now.
The thing is no one can take my identity away from me, to coin that phrase, ’’I am what I am’’, and very proud.
The story of Chanukah is not unlike any other biblical story. It tells of hope and determination for a better future. It’s the festival of light and very relevant for all of us that hold a job or go to work in this time of uncertainty. It even applies to the young out there who are schooling as it's their future too. Recessions suck and peoples attitudes change. Let’s hope that just like the Jews did during Chanukah we can manage to stick together and pray that even without a miracle we manage to stay calm.
I went into our local Body Shop store yesterday. I was looking for a specific gift for a friend when I came across a shampoo I use to use ... it's called Blue Ice, it has a great peppermint smell and really does invigorate the scalp ... I sound like a commercial now.
Anyway, the last time I bought this product was at Stanstead airport as they were just selling it till their stock lasted as it wasn’t to be replaced, no London stores had it, which was 2 maybe 3 years ago.
I asked the assistant if it was back for good and she said ‘’yes’’, I was thrilled. They don’t do the very big one anymore but then I don’t have as much hair either anymore!!

but i am here to tell you there IS hope
wake up those laggard scalps with Blue Ice!
as you massage Blue Ice into your hair, the patent formula goes to work like a military Drill Sargent screaming in the face of your apathetic scalp, making it stand at attention and do crazy drills all day and night!

i always hate when i product i like goes away... so it's awesome you found it again :D
Who needs after dinner mints? Go ahead and order the garlic pasta, ladies. After pudding, line up to lick Bloodlife's minty scalp! What a great sport he is.
I just watched Get Smart, it must be a couple of years old now but I am not on top with my films. I was looking for some lite entertainment and this was suggested to me. I am so glad I watched it, total fun, and OMG that dance scene…. I’m still laughing!!
The only scene I could find was on Utube … still funny!
They don't allow the clip to be embedded but you gotta click this link
as I'm still laughing.
I don't read newspapers as a rule as I find them full of crappy or bad news. However, that said I was shown this picture which put a smile on my face.
Thank you to 'The Sun'
